How to Solve the Rope-Tangling Issue of Electric Winches?

2026-09-24 0 Leave me a message

When rope tangling occurs while using an electric winch, stop operation immediately to prevent personal injury. Timely resolution is required once the problem happens. Hebei Shengyu Lifting Machinery Manufacturer explains the solutions in detail:

Case of rope tangling on an electric winch, shut down the machine and cut off power right away. Fully unwind the steel wire rope, manually straighten it to release torsional stress. Pre-tension rope arrangement again to ensure tightly-wound bottom-layer steel wire ropes without gaps or crossings. Check the winch’s installation levelness, and calibrate the coaxiality between the drum and guide pulley to control the deflection angle of the steel wire rope. Inspect the rope guide and rope-pressing components. Replace failed parts promptly. Keep the steel wire rope under tension during operation to avoid slack-rope stacking. Assign dedicated personnel for observation during lifting; stop and adjust immediately once rope overlapping occurs. Perform regular maintenance on steel wire ropes. Directly replace severely deformed or kinked ropes to avoid safety accidents such as rope breakage and falling objects caused by tangled ropes.
